Iowa: Resolutions to Protect Traditional Ammunition to be Heard in State Senate and House Committees

Last week, the Iowa State Senate Natural Resources and Environment Subcommittee and the Iowa House Natural Resources Subcommittee passed resolutions (SJR2001 and HJR 2001) that would remove the Iowa Natural Resources Commission's scientifically unfounded regulation banning the use of traditional ammunition for dove hunting.

SJR 2001 is expected to be voted on by the full Senate Natural Resources and Environment Committee tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 4 p.m. in Senate Room 24 in the Capitol. The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) -- the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry -- is encouraging all sportsmen, hunters and gun owners to contact members of this committee TODAY and urge them to support SJR 2001.

HJR 2001 is expected to be voted on by the full House Natural Resources Committee on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 3 p.m. in House Room 19 in the Capitol. NSSF is encouraging all sportsmen, hunters and gun owners to contact members of this committee TODAY and urge them to support HJR 2001.
