Help Prevent Wildfires

REMINDERS FOR SHOOTERS & OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS . . . The Fourth of July brings to mind pyrotechnics and "rockets' red glare," but they are not images anyone living in the parched and wildfire-ravaged West wants to think about right now. During dry and hot weather conditions, wildfires are easily started and can quickly grow into blazes that damage land and property and threaten wildlife and human life. NSSF is reminding all target shooters and outdoor enthusiasts to consider the potential consequences of their activities in fire-prone environments and offers several reminders to help prevent wildfires. Target shooters, for example, should minimize the risk of fires by not using steel-jacketed ammunition, ammunition with steel-core components, tracer rounds or exploding targets in fire-prone areas. Also, many locations such as national forests do not allow target shooting when fire restrictions are in effect.

Google's new, anti-gun policy, announced May 31, assigns a family status to all products, and among the products in the "non-family safe" category are guns, ammunition and knives.
