  • NSSF PAC AT SHOT SHOW . . . The 2012 SHOT Show will kick off a critically important presidential election year. The results of the election could cause seismic changes in the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry. The NSSF PAC will be at the show in the NSSF Membership Booth (No. L221) to collect prior consent forms from NSSF corporate members. Federal law requires the PAC to obtain the prior consent of NSSF corporate members before the PAC can communicate with the members' executive and administrative personnel about PAC activities. Remember, the NSSF PAC is the only federal political action committee solely dedicated to promoting, protecting and preserving America's hunting and shooting sports industry, your business and our firearms freedoms. Membership in the PAC sends a strong, collective message to our elected officials that industry members are an informed, involved and politically active group. NSSF corporate members that would like to provide consent for the coming year prior to the show are encouraged to do so by downloading the form and returning it to Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF PAC treasurer, by scanning it and emailing it to nssfpac@nssf.org or faxing it to 203-426-7182.

  • COURT OKs LAWSUIT CHALLENGING POST-OFFICE GUN BAN . . . A federal judge in Denver has allowed a lawsuit challenging the U.S. Postal Service's ban on guns in post offices to go forward, the Denver Post reports. A Colorado couple filed the lawsuit last year, saying the ban violates their Second Amendment rights.

  • SAF WINS PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION AGAINST OMAHA HANDGUN BAN . . . A federal judge has granted a preliminary injunction against enforcement by the City of Omaha, Neb., of an ordinance that prohibits legal non-citizens from registering handguns in the city. The case was brought by the Second Amendment Foundation, the Nebraska Firearms Owners Association and resident Armando Pliego Gonzalez. Read more.
