2008 National Championships:
The Answers to All Your Questions

With the SCTP National Championships less than a month away, many questions about the big event have been flowing into NSSF headquarters. How much is it to shoot each event? When and where do I pay? Can I bring my own ammo? Can I buy ammo off-site? Where will squad numbers be posted? Answers to all of these questions and many more are now posted on the SCTP Web site.

Pre-Squadding Deadline is July 15

As a reminder to everyone planning to attend nationals, pre-squadding is required. The deadline is July 15. Pre-squadding can be done via the SCTP Web site through the coaches Log-in page. After logging in, click on the "National Squad Builder" tab for the appropriate discipline.

Tricks of the Trade: Exhibition Shooters to Perform at Nationals

Two exhibition shooting events will be held at this year's nationals.

On Friday, Aug. 1, two of the world's top clay target shooters -- Haley Dunn and Shawn Dulohery -- will perform an exhibition and discuss their shooting experiences throughout the years. After the show, there will be a barbeque dinner sponsored by Remington held over by the events center. Dunn and Dulohery will be at the event for two days, Aug. 1 and 2, to talk with the shooters, parents and coaches, answer any questions and help present awards.

On Monday, Aug. 4, Beretta exhibition shooter Scott Robertson will perform at the grandstands following a pizza party sponsored by Beretta.

Presentation for College-Bound Shooters

At this year's nationals, Dr. Duane Shepherd from Fort Hays State University in Kansas will give a presentation on how college-bound shooters can start a shooting program at colleges or universities. The presentation will be on Sunday, Aug. 3 at 5:30 p.m.

Also, anyone interested in seeing this year's ACUI college championships on TV can tune in to ESPNU on July 4 and 11 and to ESPN2 on July 23 to catch the action. Check local listings for air times.
