Long-term Dividends from Original Outdoor Challenge

What do North Cove Outfitters in Old Saybrook, Conn., H&H Gun Range in Oklahoma City, Okla., and Palmetto State Shooting Center in Ridgeland, S.C., have in common? Each has embraced television advertising and the Original Outdoor Challenge Campaign with great success and continues to reap the benefits.

In fact, Miles Hall called NSSF recently to praise the effectiveness of the campaign, which he plans to run again in the near future. His call was in response to comments he overheard from a new customer who was talking with one of his sales associates about the ads. They obviously had made an impact. Most surprising to Hall was that he hadn't run the ads in more than two years.

To help retailers get started the NSSF has produced a new cooperative advertising tool kit that includes an informative DVD with an overview of the campaign, a CD with supporting print materials, a tape with the commercials ready to be edited and tagged with your information, and a helpful handbook. In addition retailers enjoy an aggressive 20 percent co-op reimbursement when they use the campaign materials to promote their store.
