Statement from NSSF President Steve Sanetti on the Election
As the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry, the National Shooting Sports Foundation's mission includes representing the interest of our members in Washington, D.C., and in state capitals throughout the United States, regardless of who is elected. So, come next January when President Barack Obama and the 111th Congress, as well as newly elected governors and state legislators, are sworn in and begin to govern, our members can rest assured that NSSF stands ready to continue our mission to proactively advance our industry's interests and to educate and inform members of Congress and the new Administration on our issues and concerns. NSSF will continue to be there to oppose hostile, anti-gun legislation and regulations that would harm our members' businesses and that threaten the Second Amendment and our nation's hunting and shooting sports heritage. NSSF will also continue to work to educate the "mainstream" media on firearms issues and combat the distortions and disinformation campaigns of gun-control groups and their allies so that the American public receives accurate and truthful information on our issues. NSSF's goal is to provide a better political environment for our industry -- and that's exactly what we aim to do.
