2009 Shooting Sports Summit Format:
Warning: Blackberry Free Zone - Working Session in Progress!

This year's summit is a "roll up your sleeves, get down to business" working session. Every attendee will have an opportunity to share his or her ideas by participating in a series of smaller, hands-on roundtable discussions comprised of different industry segments.  The roundtables will be facilitated by industry leaders who have had great success in launching programs, events, services or products relating to increasing hunting and target shooting participation. The focus of these discussions will be elements of success and the sharing of ideas for continued progress.

Synchronizing Our Focus ...

Roundtable discussions will focus on the goal of increasing hunting and target shooting participation by 20% in the next five years.  Seated at each table will be members of the shooting industry coming together and working side-by-side on comprehensive, sustained strategies for addressing the most important issues facing our industry today. Those issues include:

  1. reaching new shooters and developing successful youth programs
  2. using best practices in recruitment efforts
  3. addressing aging demographics of recreational shooters
  4. breaking through the barriers of access (both physical barriers and lack of awareness)
  5. keeping shooters active, interested and motivated
  6. coordinating efforts and cross-promotion of strategies

A New World of Social Media Marketing ...

Blogs, podcasts, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace ... as an industry we must embrace these new social influencers and put them to work for us in building participation and interest in the shooting sports. The key is to find the right mix in using these emerging technologies - good thing there are experts that can show us exactly how to accomplish this. The 2009 Shooting Sports Summit will present award-winning authors and well known experts who will shed valuable light on these topics.

Keeping the theme green ...

As was the case last year, the 2009 Shooting Sports summit will be a paperless event. Each presentation will be provided to attendees on a flash drive along with a ton of other research, speaker bios and contact information, sponsor materials and much more. In addition, the notes from each roundtable discussion will be provided to attendees so you won't miss a single idea shared at the event.

Webcast a Powerful Image ...

The 2009 Shooting Sports Summit will be webcast. What a powerful image it will be for industry supporters and non-supporters to see how we come together and work side-by-side. Let it be known to all that our industry is collectively focused on the future.
