Call for Presentations: 2018 SHOT Show University and the Retailer Education seminars
Call for presentations are now open for SHOT Show University and the Retailer Education seminars held at the 2018 NSSF SHOT Show in Las Vegas Nevada. We invite you to be part of the 2018 NSSF SHOT Show.
SHOT Show University will take place Monday, Jan. 22 and is the premier education event for the firearms retailer. This day-long session features both key note addresses and breakout sessions that cover all facets of retail and range operation from leadership, to business operations, compliance topics and operational excellence. We are looking for presenters specifically these topics:
Technology for Small Businesses -- what technical innovations are available (Or soon will be) that will assist the retailer in performing their duties and serving their customers.
Management Strategies -- How to get it all done for owners and managers of businesses with staff of 1-10 people and businesses with 10+ people. (Two separate courses)
Social Media and the Firearms Retailer -- Are you a social media guru with experience in using social media to highlight the firearms industry, we want to hear from you!
Employee Engagement and Retention -- Selling firearms is a daunting task when you consider the technical and regulatory aspects of the industry. Retaining these key employees are critical part of any firearms retailers’ success.
The Retailer Education Seminars take place during the week of SHOT Show, Tuesday, Jan. 23 through Thursday, Jan. 25, and run the gamut of topics that relate to the firearms industry. Topics in the past have included increasing the diversity of your customer base, selling used firearms, NFA compliance, tips on buying practices, establishing a compliance regimen, to understanding your profit and lost statement.
Retailer Education seminars: The Retailer Education seminars held during the week of SHOT run the gamut of topics that relate to the firearms industry. Topics in the past have included increasing the diversity of your customer base, selling used firearms, NFA compliance, tips on buying practices, establishing a compliance regimen, to understanding your profit and lost statement.
Audience: Those attending the NSSF SHOT Show University and Retailer Education Seminars are largely independent firearms retailers that run from startup businesses to multi-chain, multi-generational store owners.
Presentation Details: Presentations during SHOT Show University can either be a keynote address (from 60-90 minutes) or a breakout session (60 minutes). Retailer Education seminars held during the week of SHOT Show will be 60 minutes long. Meeting time and space is a limiting factor, and we may not be able to accept all presentations submitted. All presentation submissions are due by April 28. The presenter will be notified of acceptance via email by June 5.
