One Retailer's Take on SHOT Show University
It's a fact: There is no event out there for firearms retailers like SHOT Show University. Offered each year on the day before the SHOT Show opens, it's a day of seminars specifically tailored to the needs of those in the firearm retail business. The 2012 SHOT Show University, with a theme of "Retail Is Detail," is set for Monday, Jan. 16. If you haven't already done so, get registered today.
Joe Keffer, owner of The Sportsman's Shop in New Holland, Pa., attends every year. Get his take on the value of SHOT Show University.
Celebrities at the Show? Let Us Know About Planned Appearances
Professional athletes, actors, rock stars, authors, pro shooters. Each year, the SHOT Show has its fair share of celebrity appearances. Let us know if your company is planning to have a celebrity make a personal appearance at the show. In return, we'll help you promote it. We'd like to start letting all attendees know what famous faces they can expect to see at the 2012 show.
Log in to the Exhibitor Dashboard and let us know about celebrity appearances or other special events you are planning at your booth.
Change Clears Way for New Exhibitors at SHOT Show
Back in July, NSSF first announced that it would begin to repurpose the SHOT Show exhibit floor. This means that going forward only companies that are involved in our core business -- shooting, hunting, outdoor and tactical -- will be able to exhibit at the show. Read an update from NSSF's Chris Dolnack on the SHOT Show Blog.
Free Your Hands and 'Store a Box'
Walking the show floor is a lot more enjoyable when you've got a free set of hands. Attendees and media can quickly accumulate an armful of materials at the show, and carrying them around can get tiring. A 25 percent discount is being offered to SHOT Show attendees for "Store a Box," which allows you to store the materials you collect throughout the show. Store a Box locations can be found on the second level of the Venetian and in the Sands Business Center.
Print out this flyer to take advantage of the discount.
Exhibitors: Reserve Your Press Room Bins
A popular new addition to last year's SHOT Show Press Room were the bins used to display exhibitor press materials. The bins are back for the 2012 show and can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum of two bins per exhibitor. The bins are one cubic foot (12 inches in height, width and depth) and will be displayed in alphabetical order by exhibitor name. There are a limited number of bins, so please be sure to reserve them soon. The deadline to reserve bins is Jan. 6. To be eligible, you must be either a SHOT Show exhibitor or NSSF member.
