- There are approximately 6.7 million active Airgun target shooters in the U.S.
- Males make up 87% of participants with an average age of 24.8.
- Female (13%) participants average age is 28.
- The largest age group of participation for males is 12-17 (28%).
- The 12-17 age group participates on average 18 days per year in Airgun target shooting.
- The average dollar expenditure (per buying household) for airguns is $54.00. Frequent Airgun shooters spend on average $88.62.
- Considering the full line retail sector for airguns: CO2 accessories account for 49.5% of units sold, BB rifles 12.1%, BB pistols 17.8%, Pellet Rifles 10.9%, and Pellet Pistols 9.7%.
