About the Collegiate Shooting Sports Initiative
The National Shooting Sports Foundation is pleased to introduce
its Collegiate Shooting Sports Initiative (CSSI).
CSSI was created to:
- Raise awareness of shooting sports opportunities at the college
level
- Provide financial and non-financial assistance in developing college shooting clubs or
teams
- Serve as a resource for colleges and students interested in
learning more about the shooting sports
- Help grow the shooting sports at the college level
Finishing High School Doesn't Have to Mean Finishing the Shooting
Sports
Youth shooting programs are extremely popular nationwide with
students in grades 12 and under. Opportunities to compete in the
shooting sports are widely available through programs like the
Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP), Boy Scouts of America and
4-H.
As these students go off to college, many would jump at the opportunity
to get involved or continue their participation in the shooting
sports -- just like athletes in other sports. Through the Collegiate
Shooting Sports Initiative, NSSF's goal is to provide colleges
and universities with the tools they need to take the initiative
and help grow the shooting sports at the college level.
