Dave Thomas has a 25-year background as a small businessman in Montana in fields as varied as insurance, screen printing and publishing. He has been involved in the sport of practical shooting as a competitor since 1982. He is part of a group that started a club in Missoula, Mont., and served as president for eight years. In 1995, he helped form the Rocky Mountain Section (the state organization) and was elected to the position of section coordinator. He accepted the position of U.S. Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) executive director in 1996.
