Tammy Sapp was raised in an outdoors family who enjoyed spending time together trapping, fishing and camping. That outdoor background inspired her to pursue a career in the wildlife field.
Sapp worked for more than 10 years at state wildlife agencies in Wisconsin and Oklahoma before landing a position in 1997 with the National Wild Turkey Federation, one of the country's fastest-growing single-species conservation groups.
As the NWTF's senior vice president of communications, Sapp oversees the production of five national magazines: Turkey Call/The Caller, Women In The Outdoors, JAKES/Xtreme JAKES Magazine, Wheelin' Sportsmen and Get in the Game as well as the NWTF's Web sites. Sapp also played a leading role in launching three national television shows, "Turkey Call," "Turkey Country," and "Get in the Game."
"I hope our publications, Web sites and television shows teach and inspire new audiences to enjoy hunting, shooting and more," said Sapp. "At the NWTF, we believe there's a place for everyone in the outdoors."
