Steve Miller serves as Executive Director of the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance. Throughout his career, Steve has demonstrated a wide range of skills, experience and accomplishments in fund raising, strategic planning, organizational and financial management, public relations, and effective program delivery.
From 1995 thru early 2007, Steve served as Managing Director for Field Operations of the National Rifle Association. In that capacity, Steve directed the administration of the Friends of NRA fund-raising program including merchandise acquisition, financial reporting, event services, information systems and field implementation. The Friends of NRA program generated over $100 million since its inception in 1992. Steve also directed the administration of the NRA-affiliated clubs program and the NRA Range Services program.
Steve earned his Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Forestry & Wildlife from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. Steve served as the State Biologist for the USDA Soil Conservation Service in Pennsylvania; Chief, Wildlife Management Services for the Maryland Forest, Park & Wildlife Service; Wildlife Biologist for the USDA Rocky Mountain Forest & Range Experiment Station; and Chief, Wildlife Field Services for the Maryland Wildlife Administration.
Steve also served as a Regional Director with both Ducks Unlimited, Inc. and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
