Lawrence G. Keane

Lawrence G. Keane, Esq. is senior vice president, assistant secretary and general counsel of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Inc., the firearm industry's trade association. He is responsible for all of NSSF's legal, government relations and risk management functions. He assisted in drafting the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (Public Law No. 109-92). He serves as the firearms industry's spokesperson for industry wide litigation and legislative and regulatory matters. He has been interviewed twice on-camera by 60 Minutes, and lived to tell about it. Mr. Keane also serves as general counsel for the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute, Inc., which sets voluntary industry safety standards, and the Hunting and Shooting Sports Heritage Fund, Inc., which conducts voter education and mobilization campaigns. He is also a member of the policy steering committee of the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucus. Previously, he served on the board of the Firearms Safety Education Foundation, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to educating the public about firearm safety issues.

Prior to joining NSSF, he was a partner in the White Plains, NY law firm of Pino & Asscociates, LLP where he represented a number of domestic and foreign firearm manufacturers in product liability cases. Mr. Keane successfully represented Beretta U.S.A. Corp. in the landmark cases of Hamilton v. Accu-Tek, et al. and Dix v. Beretta U.SA. Corp. Mr. Keane is rated A.V. by Martindale-Hubbell.

Before joining Pino & Associates, LLP he was an Assistant District Attorney in the Westchester County, NY District Attorney's Office. During his career as a prosecutor he was assigned to the Economic Crime Bureau where he investigated and prosecuted complex white collar and organized crime cases.

Mr. Keane is a graduate of the Fordham University School of Law. He obtained a B.A. in Economics from Fordham University.
